Martha Sturdy Steps Down from the Audain Art Museum Board of Trustees after 10 years.
After celebrating 10 years of dedicated service, Martha Sturdy is stepping down from the Board of Trustees at the Audain Art Museum. A valued member of the Board, Sturdy also served as Chair of the Art Acquisitions Committee for seven years, playing a key role in guiding the growth and direction of the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Her leadership, expertise, and commitment have helped shape the institution’s artistic vision and strengthen its presence within the community.

Audain Art Museum Promotes Kiriko Watanabe to Gail & Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chief Curator
Dr. Curtis Collins, Executive Director of the Audain Art Museum, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kiriko Watanabe to Gail & Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chief Curator. “Kiriko Watanabe has been a key part of the Museum’s success over the past 8 years through her diligent guidance of the Permanent Collection’s strategic growth and the production of exceptional Special Exhibitions that have enhanced the AAM’s national standing. She is very deserving of this promotion to Chief Curator.”

Curve!: Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast Places as Finalist at the 2025 BC and Yukon Book Prizes
The Audain Art Museum is excited to announce that Curve!: Women Carvers of the Northwest Coast, curated by Dana Claxton and Curtis Collins and co-published by the Audain Art Museum, received the Bill Duthie Booksellers’ Choice Award at the 2025 BC and Yukon Book Prizes on September 21, 2025.

Martha Sturdy Appointed to the Order of British Columbia
The Audain Art Museum is delighted to congratulate Martha Sturdy on her appointment to the Order of British Columbia.
This recognition is a wonderful testament to Sturdy’s global impact as an artist and a strong advocate for women in business. She is an integral member of the Audain Art Museum Board of Trustees and Chair of the Museum’s Art Acquisitions Committee. Sturdy has long been a dedicated supporter of the Museum and continues to inspire generations through her groundbreaking contributions to art and design.

BC Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport visits the AAM
The Audain Art Museum was thrilled to host the Honourable Spencer Chandra Herbert, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport for British Columbia on Thursday, June 5. It was an enjoyable afternoon showing the Minister through the Permanent Collection and Special Exhibitions.
