Raised on the Namgis reserve in Alert Bay, BC, Cole Speck (Kwakwaka’wakw) was an apprentice of the late master carver Beau Dick. Dzunukwis reflects Speck's tremendous love and respect for his culture, as he works to keep old traditions alive while allowing his contemporary style to emerge.
