Offering programs for every age, the Audain Art Museum is proud to create signature learning experiences based on works in the Permanent Collection and temporary exhibitions. Guided by artists, educators and museum professionals, you will draw inspiration from the Audain Art Museum Permanent Collection and exhibitions from around the world.

Walk and Talk Tour

Knowledgeable and friendly docents will provide visitors with an introduction to the Audain Art Museum and the treasures that are housed within its picturesque setting. Visitors will be encouraged to explore the galleries afterwards.

Tours offered on:

Wednesdays at 1pm
Thursdays and Fridays at 3pm
Saturdays and Sundays at 11am, 1pm and 3pm

Private Tours are available upon request

Arts Whistler Presents: The Chili Thom Experience

The Audain Art Museum is proud to welcome Arts Whistler presents The Chili Thom Experience – a celebration of Chili, his life, and his art, for the community that loved him and the visitors about to discover him.

For three weeks in June, the magic and spirit of Chili Thom will be celebrated throughout Whistler with exhibitions, eccentric evenings, performances, and a showcase of Chili-inspired young artists’ work. This resort-wide celebration will honour one of the most significant artists to work, live, and contribute to the Sea to Sky community.

June 2 – 26, 2017: His Masterpieces

From dreamy landscapes to mind-bending nature perspectives, His Masterpieces will feature the best of Chili’s works showing his progression as an artist. Chili was part of the process in selecting which works to showcase and they are being shipped in from private collectors from across Canada and beyond.

In keeping with Chili Thom’s generous and accessible spirit, entry to His Masterpieces will be free of charge.

Time: Open daily 10am – 5pm. Closed Tuesdays.

May Programming

Yoga at the Audain

Nourish the soul with a yoga practice set amongst the inspiring artwork of the Audain Art Museum. Qualified yoga instructors will lead you through flowing sessions that center on the confluence of art and yoga. Each session will focus on the energy of a different gallery or artist. Classes are suitable for all levels.

Age: All Ages

Cost:  $15 + GST. This fee supports the variety of educational programs offered at the Museum.
Registration: Drop-in only. Please be aware that space is limited within the gallery, be sure to arrive early.


Kids Konnect Tours

Our whimsical and enlightening docents will lead families on tours of the Permanent Collection or special exhibitions that have been designed and tailored to engage children. Activities, games and movement bring the works of art to life, encouraging new ways of looking and thinking about the world around us.

Family Studio Sunday

Let the inspiration and creativity flow in our art-making Studio! Once a month volunteers, artists and facilitators will welcome and guide families through hands-on, engaging art projects inspired by our permanent and temporary exhibitions, holidays and special events. Activities are geared towards children 12 & under and their families.

Join Radar the Rescue Dog author Janet Love Morrison and Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog (CARDA) handlers for a book reading and lesson about outdoor safety. Reading will be followed by an interactive colouring activity featuring the illustrations of artist Zuzana Riha Driediger and facilitated by the Museum.

Summer Programming

Summer Art Camps

Want to spend your summer surrounded by artists like Emily Carr, E.J. Hughes, Gordon Smith and James Hart? Our half-day art camps are designed to capture the inspiration and practice of these influential artists while encouraging children to unleash their own creativity. Children ages 6-12 will be introduced to different sketching, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects that are sure to stimulate and foster the creative expression of our next generation of artists.

Tradition and Transformation: Exploring Canada | July 10-14 | August 14–18

What better way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday than to explore the historical and contemporary art of our Nation! Using our permanent collection as inspiration, children will reflect on the diversity and uniqueness of Canadian culture and landscape in the creation of their own artworks.

Material Mash-up | July 17-21 | August 21-25

A wide variety of materials can act as the building blocks for art-making. Thinking outside the box, children will explore the ways in which everyday objects and materials carry meaning with them, using them to create extraordinary, unexpected artworks.

Audain Fine Artists | July 24-28 | August 28–September 1

Are you the next Emily Carr or Jack Shadbolt? Through the exploration of the innovative styles of various fine artists housed within the Museum, children will hone their artistic practice while boldly experimenting with an array of mediums.

Time: 9am – 12pm: children ages 6-8 | 1 – 4pm: children ages 9-12
Cost: Register by May 31st, 2017 for early bird pricing: $139 + GST per camp. Members receive a 10% discount.
         Register after May 31st, 2017: $149 + GST per camp. Members receive a 10% discount.

Teen Drop-in Art Camps

Whether you are a skilled artist or a beginner our Teen Drop-in Camps offer exciting opportunities for youth ages 13-18 to experiment with art, creativity, and ideas in our studio and gallery spaces.

Canada Day

Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday by creatively communicating your love of our beautiful country. Whether it’s your home or your destination, Canada holds a special place in all our hearts.

Audain Exploration Cards

A variety of thoughts, questions and activities inspire the artist in us all! Designed for children and families to use on their exploration through the galleries of the Museum, the Activity Cards are available for pick-up at the Admissions Desk upon your arrival.
