Visitor Guidlines & Etiquette

Museum Conduct & Etiquette

To ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful experience for all visitors, we ask that you follow the guidelines below while exploring the Audain Art Museum. These practices help protect the artworks, the building, and the comfort of fellow guests.

  • Do not touch or make contact with the works of art on display and maintain a distance of 2 feet.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children are not permitted on the shoulders of another person or in a backpack carrier. Front carriers are permitted.
  • At least one adult is required per 5 children (16 & under).
  • Visitors are asked to refrain from shouting, running, and rowdy behaviour.
  • Profane language is not permitted.
  • Please turn your cell phone to the “silent” or “vibrate” setting and be considerate of others when using your phone. Audible music is not permitted.
  • Bikes are not permitted inside the building or locked to the Museum’s porch railing. A bike rack is located under the building.
  • Dogs may not be left unattended on the porch or tied to the porch railing.

Photography

Photography is welcome at the Audain Art Museum, but we ask that it be done with care and respect for both the artwork and fellow visitors. Flash photography is not permitted at any time, as bright light can damage sensitive works of art. Non-flash photography and short personal-use videos are allowed unless otherwise indicated; some special exhibitions may have additional restrictions for conservation or copyright reasons.

All professional, commercial, or staged photography — including portrait sessions, influencer shoots, media filming, and wedding photography — must be booked in advance. For inquiries or bookings, please contact marketing@audainartmuseum.com. Tripods, lighting equipment, and stabilizers are not permitted during public hours.

Guidelines for Group Visits

The Audain Art Museum welcomes group visits and encourages guests to explore the galleries together. To ensure the best possible experience, groups of 10 or more are asked to book in advance. Early reservations help us manage capacity and provide any additional support your group may require.

School groups, tour operators, and community organizations are invited to take advantage of guided and self-guided options, depending on availability. To maintain a safe and respectful environment, we require at least one chaperone for every five children (16 & under). Groups are encouraged to arrive on time, stay together, and follow staff instructions throughout their visit.
